Cleveland Clinic’s Environmental Services Department is consistently among the highest-performing EVS teams in healthcare, and we’re looking to add an Environmental Services Supervisor to our team to create the comfortable and safe environment our patients have come to expect. The Supervisor role is crucial in supporting the mission and vision of Cleveland Clinic. By leading and managing a team effectively, a supervisor ensures that the organization's standards for patient care, safety, and operational efficiency are met. This role directly contributes to creating a positive and productive work environment, which aligns with the organization's commitment to excellence in healthcare.
A caregiver in this position works evenings from 2:30PM – 11:00PM, including every other weekend or holiday.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Supervise the technical and administrative functions of the Environmental Services department.
Act as a technical resource for team members.
Implement goals consistent with assigned clinical and non-clinical units.
Provide effective utilization of personnel, policies and procedures in order to ensure a clean, safe and attractive environment.
Supervise caregivers in daily operations and evaluate performance.
Continuously inspect assigned areas to ensure high quality of cleaning and maintenance is being performed.
Maintain staffing levels.
Approve and schedule paid time off and leave requests.
Ensure cross coverage.
Coordinate and provide orientation, education and training.
Improve procedures and processes.
Analyze workflow and procedures.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve speed, quality and effectiveness.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
Two years of experience as a work leader, team lead or project manager OR one year of supervisory experience in a related field OR a Bachelor’s Degree
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Previous environmental services or housekeeping experience
Physical Requirements:
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Requires dexterity sufficient to operate a computer.
Ability to perform duties while walking, standing, stooping and lifting.
Medium work-exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move heavy objects.
Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
