**Position Specific Description**
As the Environmental Services Manager at NextEra Energy Resources, this position leads and manage the nationwide environmental construction compliance program. This role is integral to ensuring that construction projects adhere to environmental regulations and best practices, thereby supporting NextEra's commitment to sustainability and excellence.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Lead and oversee the environmental construction compliance team, which operates across the country, to implement compliance strategies and ensure alignment with regulatory standards.
+ Develop and refine processes for seamless project transitions—handing off projects from permitting stages to construction, and from construction to operations—to optimize efficiency and maintain compliance throughout the construction of the project.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams (air, water, waste, listed species, etc.) to drive environmental compliance practices and processes.
**Job Overview**
This job is responsible for managing multiple multifaceted environmental issues, licensing and permitting processes, legislative development, staff resources and related activities to provide management support to NextEra Energy, Inc. departments.
**Job Duties & Responsibilities**
• Obtains all required federal, state and local environmental licenses, permits and approvals for development projects
• Supports multiple projects with multifaceted environmental and regulatory issues and assists in comprehensive environmental due diligence reviews for potential acquisitions
• Maintains current knowledge of pertinent national and state level environmental policies and regulations
• Interfaces with internal and external customers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders, and be able to assist in resolving complex environmental matters
• Helps ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental regulations, as well as company policies
• Translates regulations and permit into actionable construction compliance tasks
• Provides specialized environmental expertise and environmental technical support
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
**Required Qualifications**
