Cleveland Clinic’s Environmental Services Department is consistently among the highest-performing EVS teams in healthcare, and we’re looking to add an Environmental Services Floor Technician to our team to create the comfortable and safe environment our patients have come to expect. The Environmental Services Floor Technician role is a steppingstone to other careers within Environmental Services and other departments within Cleveland Clinic.
A caregiver in this position works an average of 16 hours per week from 3:00PM – 11:30PM. Availability Monday-Friday as well as every other weekend and holiday is needed.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Maintain a clean and safe environment and support the facility’s overall appearance.
Perform assigned job functions at various locations, including inpatient and outpatient surgical or non-surgical setting, on a daily basis.
Perform daily cleaning of assigned areas, including but not limited to; dust mopping, mopping/scrubbing, vacuuming, gum removal and buffing hard floor surfaces using various equipment.
Complete waste stream removal including general waste, recycling and infectious waste.
Adhere to policies and procedures on patient isolation and all Environmental Services technical and procedural standard operating procedures.
Follow and comply with hospital-wide and departmental safety requirements.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
Prior experience working with commercial floor-cleaning equipment
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
Ability to move/transport items weighing up to 10 pounds (lbs.)
Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to 10 pounds (lbs.)
Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
Ability to inspect equipment
Ability to clean, operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products
May come into contact with communicable diseases and/or body fluids

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
