Cleveland Clinic’s Environmental Services Department is consistently ranked among the highest-performing EVS teams in healthcare. As an Environmental Services caregiver on our team, you will help create the comfortable and safe environment our patients have come to expect. This role is a steppingstone to other careers within Environmental Services (Team Lead, Supervisor and Manager) and departments within Cleveland Clinic.
Shift Schedules:
We offer flexible scheduling, including:
Days: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Afternoons/Evenings: 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
Evenings/Nights: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
Late Evenings: 4:00 PM–12:30 AM
Weekend Availability:
Must be able to work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
Responsibilities:
Perform daily cleaning of assigned areas, including but not limited to; dust mopping, mopping/scrubbing, vacuuming, gum removal, and buffing hard floor surfaces using various equipment.
Complete waste stream removal, including the same transport and disposal of general waste, recycling, and infectious waste.
Adhere to policies and procedures on patient isolation and all Environmental Services technical and procedural standard operating procedures.
Follow and comply with hospital-wide and departmental safety requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
High School Diploma/General Education Development (GED) preferred.

Complexity of Work:
Requires attention to detail, ability to follow directions and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to learn and follow departmental policies and procedures, various cleaning and patient hospitality techniques, proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals.
Ability to communicate in a clear, courteous and caring manner.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced cleaning environment.
Ability to be flexible with work assignments.

Physical Requirements:
Requires full body motion, including ability to perform work while lifting, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting, and reaching.
Requires continuous walking and standing on hard surfaces.
Requires regular handling and use of disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals.
Light work – Exerting 11 to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
