As Director of Environmental Services, you will oversee the department and team members to facilitate continuity, constant collaboration, open communication and operational success. Your efforts will directly enhance patient safety, ensuring they always receive the best healthcare in a sterile, clean and organized facility. As challenging as some days may seem, holding this position is an honor, as everything you do helps promote the highest standards and national credentials.
A caregiver in this position works days, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Lead a team of Environmental Service Managers and Supervisors.
Develop annual goals and objectives for Environmental Services consistent with the mission and strategic plan of the organization.
Review and select products and equipment to ensure compliance with facility specifications.
Monitor activities to ensure compliance with health department and other regulatory agencies.
Monitor staff performance, analyze staffing patterns and make changes to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
Develop training and competencies for staff on a continual basis.
Oversee budget and ensure resources are used appropriately.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business or a related field and six years of professional experience in Hospitality, Environmental Sciences or a related field, including three years of demonstrated progressively responsible management experience OR Master’s Degree and two years of experience OR High School Diploma/GED and ten years of experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Joint commission survey and compliance experience
Healthcare experience
Experience driving metrics and training other Managers

Physical Requirements:
This position requires frequent walking, sitting and standing, etc.
Frequent talking and listening when given instructions and explanations. Frequent use of the phone and computer.
Working Conditions: The person in this position spends most of the time indoors in air-conditioned areas.
Occasional trips are required to attend meetings at satellites.
