Kimley-Horn is seeking a driven and mission-aligned Environmental Senior Project Manager with a passion for shaping the future of energy and environmental services. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone ready to grow and lead our Environmental and Energy practice, focusing on regulatory strategy, stakeholder engagement, permitting, and cross-sector project delivery. We’re looking for an entrepreneurial leader with deep experience across traditional and renewable energy sectors—someone who thrives in complexity, influences policy, and delivers results through strategic execution and team development.
ResponsibilitiesLead and grow Kimley-Horn’s Environmental and Energy practice across geographies and sectors (oil & gas, helium, geothermal, carbon sequestration, renewables).
Manage regulatory permitting and strategy for multi-state and federal energy infrastructure and development projects.
Drive stakeholder and agency engagement, including tribal consultation, community outreach, and public-private partnerships.
Build strong relationships with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies (e.g., BLM, USFWS, DOE, EPA).
Oversee project delivery, scope, budget, and client engagement for large-scale and technically complex efforts.
Mentor and develop a cross-functional team of environmental, planning, and engineering professionals.
Support business development, capture planning, and strategic pursuits aligned with Kimley-Horn’s mission and national energy goals.
Qualifications20+ years of progressive experience in energy, environmental consulting, regulatory affairs, or EHS/ESG leadership.
Expertise in NEPA, CEQA, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and state-level permitting (e.g., COGCC, RRC, CDPHE).
A track record of leading multi-agency approvals, policy advocacy, and environmental due diligence.
Demonstrated ability to scale teams, develop new markets, and guide clients through complex regulatory landscapes.
Deep understanding of capital planning, land strategy, and environmental risk management in both conventional and low-carbon energy systems.
Strong business acumen, client-facing leadership, and the ability to build high-trust partnerships.
Executive MBA or advanced technical degree (e.g., M.S. Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field) preferred.
Salary Range:
