Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: The Environmental Scientist (ES) Supervisor is responsible for supervision of the permitting process in regulating the environmental effects of industrial, commercial, and governmental activities of permitted facilities on a functional unit within the Water Permits Division's Industrial Permit Group 2. This position requires a high degree of knowledge of environmental regulations in order to supervise advanced levels of permitting in the issuance of water permits. The facility types assigned to Group 2 are comprised of less complex permits within the Industrial Permitting Section and are generally classified as minor facilities. Major industrial permits may also be issued within this group when a facility falls within the assigned facility type. Examples of facility types within this group include, but are not limited to: Alligator Farms, Barge Cleaning, Fabricated Metal Products, Fish Hatcheries, Grain Elevators, Marine Cargo, Seafood Processors, Oil & Gas Production and Exploration, Oilfield Service, Miscellaneous Manufacturing, Food Processing and Preparation, Medical Facilities, Truck Terminals, and Railroad Yard/Terminals.
