Environmental Scientist Professional Intermediate
At Jacobs our coastal scientist help monitor and restore coastal wetlands around the globe. We’re helping our clients innovate and grow by designing, engineering, executing, and monitoring important wetland projects around the world.   We're looking for an entry level and highly motivated Environmental Scientist Professional Intermediate who thrives when people are in sync and wetland projects are running not just on time but within budget. Based in our  Syracuse, NY office, reporting directly to the site manager and working alongside other environmental scientist, you’ll be responsible conducting environmental sampling, evaluating and analyzing date, and assisting with technical report writing on the Coastwide Reference Monitoring Systems program. The primary role will be to focus on the collecting scientific data including hydrologic, wetland surface elevation and accretion, and wetland vegetation composition and cover data. As a key member of the team you’ll be learning and taking instruction from mid to and senior staff. As a de team member, you’ll leverage guidance given to assist team members and actively contribute to the project execution. Bring your curiosity, talent for multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, and extreme organizational skills and we’ll help you grow, pursue and fulfill what drives you - so we can make big impacts on the world, together.    We are looking for an Environmental Scientist with 1 to 3 years of technical experience in several or all of the following areas: • Conducting environmental inspections; • Collecting, managing, and maintaining field data; • Collecting samples (e.g., water, soil, waste; including sample planning, conducting collection activities, use of proper methods, COC completion, and recordkeeping); • Experience preparing technical reports; • Maintaining schedules for conducting sampling activities to maintain permit compliance; • Entering and manipulating data in MS Excel and regularly using of MS Outlook; • Using tablets and other technologies to complete and submit e-forms to document and track field activities; and • Balancing collaboration with teammates while also working independently on multiple projects under strict deadlines.
