Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: The incumbent will utilize advanced technical and environmental knowledge in the development and issuance of LPDES master general permits. The incumbent will assist in the development of lower level Environmental Scientists by serving as a leader and mentor. + Lead Permit Development: Write, reissue, and initiate LPDES master general permits, serving as project manager for renewals affecting thousands of facilities. + Technical Oversight: Review permit work by other staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage data systems like TEMPO. + Mentorship & Training: Guide and support junior Environmental Scientists, offering technical expertise and peer reviews. + Documentation & Standards: Develop and maintain SOPs, forms, and guidance documents for the General Permits Unit. + Collaboration & Growth: Participate in workgroups, trainings, and conferences; assist with TMDL language and maintain strong EPA Region 6 relationships.
