Join a leading organization in the oil and gas industry as an Environmental / Regulatory Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and supporting safety initiatives.
Role Overview
Coordinate Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) monitoring activities with Site Construction Managers and/or Supervisors. Assess and record compliance with project and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contractor SSHE plans and programs. Conduct scheduled and unscheduled work site inspections/assessments as required by the Environmental Management Plan (EMP). Ensure proper identification, recording, reporting, and rectification of SSHE compliance initiatives. Interface with regulatory agency field inspectors. Oversee sampling and analysis activities related to environmental field samples. Provide initial in-the-field problem recognition/troubleshooting. Receive and review SSHE performance/EMP implementation monitoring data. Assist in the coordination and oversight of spill and emergency response activities. Monitor general worker behavior related to the project’s key SSHE policies.Skills & Qualifications
Experience in SSHE and/or regulatory compliance within the oil and gas sector. Understanding of industry project construction principles and techniques. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment. Self-confidence to instruct contractors on regulatory compliance. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; advanced user of Adobe.Education & Experience
Degree in Environmental or Natural Sciences, Natural Resource Management, or related discipline preferred. Technical field experience related to SSHE management is advantageous. OGI (Optical Gas Imaging) certification is required. Hands on experience with LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) cameras is highly preferred.Pay & Benefits
