Environmental Health & Safety Specialist
Job Summary The EHS Specialist implements safety and environmental programs to reduce injuries to patients, visitors, and team members, and monitors compliance with occupational safety and hazardous materials programs at NH facilities within their respective market. Maintains a working knowledge and serves as a resource to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accrediting body standards including (but not limited to) TJC, DNV, CMS, AAAHC, OSHA (state & federal), EPA (state & federal) and other related regulatory agencies. High school diploma/GED and five years relevant healthcare environmental health and safety experience accepted in lieu of degree. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Bachelors degree in an applicable field. + Experience: Minimum of three years relevant environmental health and safety experience (healthcare preferred), required. + Licensure/certification/registration: CHSP/CHFSP, CHOP, HEM, MESH, or equivalent, preferred. + Additional skills required: + Strong work ethic. + Good judgment and critical thinking skills. + Good verbal and written communications skills. + No criminal record. + Maintains valid driver’s license in the state of residence. + Ability to successfully work in an environment of high stress with rapidly changing priorities. + Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks. + Ability to successfully complete generic and department–specific skills validation and competency testing. + Ability to translate observations and information into legible, complete, and accurate reports. + Basic knowledge of building code requirements, electrical codes, fire codes, and regulatory compliance requirements for TJC, DNV, CMS, AAAHC, OSHA (state & federal), EPA (state & federal), and other applicable regulatory agencies. + Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite software platforms (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). + Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, clinicians, administration, facility/department leaders, contractors, and outside agencies. + Ability to drive/travel to multiple locations/facilities as needed. + Additional skills preferred: Maintain professional certification(s) - if obtained Job Opening ID 92722
