What's in it for you:
EHS Technicians perform technical duties related to safety, health and the environment. Performs initial evaluation of EHS related concerns and problems related to processes and equipment. Makes initial recommendations for further evaluation to improve EHS controls and solutions. Research EHS recommendations to drive metric improvements and reduce hazards and risk. Coordinates EHS improvement projects with department leaders, Manufacturing Engineering and Plant Engineering to ensure business continuity. Performs EHS preventative maintenance and inspection audits of assigned equipment, in accordance with regulatory and Trane Technologies requirements.

 

What you will do:

Perform initial management of change evaluation of EHS related concerns and problems related to processes and equipment. Makes initial recommendations for further evaluation to improve EHS controls and solutions.

Institute team-based care initiatives through engagement of front-line leadership and department employees.

Develop critical inventories of RRI, lifting assessments, and cell risk assessments through engagement of front-line leadership and department employees.

Facilitate cross functional ergonomic assessments and identification of workstation improvements.

Participate in incident investigation walk-backs, problem solving, team Safety Gembas, product team meetings, and new equipment reviews (risk assessments). Follow up on corrective and preventive actions to drive closure of incident investigations, concerns and findings (Gensuite, JDI, 9 SPS, A3s).

Assist Leadership Team with driving EHS excellence as a core value.

Coordinates EHS improvement projects with department leaders, Manufacturing Engineering and Plant Engineering to ensure business continuity.

Perform EHS preventative maintenance and inspection audits of assigned equipment, in accordance with regulatory and Trane Technologies requirements.

Research EHS recommendations to drive metric improvements and reduce hazards and risk for assigned product team(s) and facility-wide initiatives.

Execute daily MBWA (plant walks) using existing and new skills, knowledge and abilities to provide basic EHS compliance guidance and identify opportunities for improvement to Lynn Haven site employees.

Implements EHS standard work using implementation guides and other available resources with assigned product team(s) and for facility-wide initiatives.

Maintain oversight of hazardous and special waste staging areas, complete waste and storm water inspections and take corrective actions when necessary to maintain compliance and best practices.

Present EHS training to small groups for compliance, employee development and awareness.

Assists with project management and oversees contractors/staffing for EHS projects.

Prepare basic EHS messages for plant wide learning and best practice sharing.

Assist with OJT / Onboarding for EHS requirements.

 

What you will bring:

Bachelor's degree preferred, High School Diploma/GED required.

Must be willing to pursue technician level certification, certificate or degree program in related field. Associate degree in Life Safety, Environmental Studies, Occupational Health and Safety or related field will provide a distinct advantage.

Must complete specialized training in: First Aid/CPR/AED; RCRA / DOT; HAZWOPER; Fall Protection; Arc Flash/

Electrical Safety; Lockout Tag out for Authorized Employees and Hot Work within the first 12 months of hire.

Must be able to respond to infrequent after-hour emergencies.

Must be able to work weekends
