The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Program Manager provides leadership and oversight for environmental health, safety, and regulatory compliance programs across Akron General and affiliated southern region hospitals, including Lodi, Medina, Mercy, and Union. Working closely with a team of EHS Associates, this role oversees construction and renovation safety processes, reviews and evaluates project plans, manages fire and life safety programs, and ensures compliance with hazardous materials regulations and permitting requirements. Responsibilities also include supporting industrial hygiene and indoor air quality initiatives, investigating OSHA-related incidents and compliance concerns, conducting environmental and safety assessments, and partnering with operational leaders to mitigate risk across multiple facilities. The Program Manager plays a key role in continuous regulatory readiness efforts, leading environmental and safety rounds, supporting Joint Commission preparedness, and driving initiatives that promote a safe environment for patients, caregivers, and visitors across the health system.
A caregiver in this position works Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 4:30pm or 8:00am to 5:00pm. Further requirements include response to emergencies as needed and occasional travel to surrounding facilities.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Develop, maintain, manage and implement operational systems and activities. Serve as a liaison with all levels of Cleveland Clinic and the outside community. Manage multiple projects and priorities. Serve as a coach and mentor for other caregivers. Review and monitor adherence to Human Resources policies and corporate compliance procedures.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or a related field and six years of related experience OR Master’s Degree and five years of related experience Knowledge of statistical and financial analysis, primary research and business plan developmentPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
