The Environmental Health and Safety Associate supports a comprehensive environment of care program through close collaboration with the EHS team, Facilities, Infection Prevention, Environmental Services, Clinical Engineering, Regulatory Compliance, nursing departments, laboratory areas, Pharmacy, executive leadership, Accreditation and local Environment of Care committees. This role conducts construction rounds, startup inspections and readiness rounds, evaluates construction permits and reviews SERS and blotter reports while addressing fire safety, hazardous materials and indoor air quality concerns. Responsibilities include completing and documenting inspections, managing hazardous and regulated waste processes, supporting fire drills and annual fire marshal walkthroughs, reviewing industrial hygiene reports, investigating accident reports, addressing root causes and assisting with the closure of OSHA and other regulatory agency findings to ensure ongoing compliance and safety readiness. **A caregiver in this position works Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm with no holidays. Weekend requirements will only occur when needed.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Collect and analyze data to identify adverse trends and high loss potential incidents. + Conduct site investigations, participate in root cause analyses and corrective action identification, and prepare reports summarizing findings and recommendations. + Conduct classroom and one-on-one or small group training of various EHS topics. + Perform audits of EHS programs and practices. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
