As an Environmental Health and Safety Associate, you will assist with the planning, implementation and auditing of ergonomic, industrial hygiene, biosafety, hazardous materials, occupational and visitor safety and fire safety programs. This role supports construction and readiness activities by conducting construction rounds, startup inspections, permit evaluations and readiness rounds while ensuring findings are documented promptly. You will help manage hazardous materials and waste processes, complete inspections, support fire safety drills and inspections, review safety and incident reports, evaluate indoor air quality, investigate accidents to address root causes and assist with regulatory and accreditation requirements including Joint Commission, OSHA and local fire authorities. This position plays a key role in promoting a safe environment for patients, caregivers, and visitors.
A caregiver in this role will work Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm with no holiday requirements. Weekends will be required only when needed.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Collect and analyze data to identify adverse trends and high loss potential incidents.Conduct site investigations, participate in root cause analyses and corrective action identification, and prepare reports summarizing findings and recommendations.Conduct classroom and one-on-one or small group training of various EHS topics.Perform audits of EHS programs and practices.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a science, engineering, or safety field; OR, other Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience in an environmental health and safety field or applicable healthcare areaMust possess a valid Ohio Driver's license (VDL) and obtain and maintain eligibility of insurability as determined by CCF's insurance carriers' to operate CCF vehiclesMust have own transportation to/from remote job sitesMinimum 1 year of experience in an environmental health and safety field or applicable healthcare area if Bachelor's degree is not science, engineering, or safety-relatedPhysical Requirements:
Typical demands require full body motion including ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to use material handling equipment and climb ladders.Ability to wear personal protective equipment including respirators.Ability to use field equipment, computers, and laboratory equipment.Good visual acuity, hearing, and sense of smell.Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
