Job Title: Environmental Field Scientist / Technician Location: New York City (All 5 Boroughs) Employment Type: Full-Time Experience Level: Intermediate Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Field Scientist or Technician to support various OER (Office of Environmental Remediation) and Brownfield projects across the five boroughs of New York City. This role involves both fieldwork and report writing, contributing to environmental site assessments, remediation oversight, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities + Conduct field investigations including soil and groundwater sampling, and site assessments. + Perform construction oversight and ensure environmental compliance during remediation activities. + Implement and maintain Community Air Monitoring Programs (CAMP). + Prepare detailed technical reports documenting field activities, findings, and recommendations. + Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and regulatory agencies. + Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols on-site. Required Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or related field. + 2–5 years of relevant field experience. + Strong knowledge of environmental sampling techniques and remediation practices. + Proficiency in report writing and data interpretation. + Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and environmental standards. + Certifications: + OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER + OSHA 10 or 30 + SST Card (Site Safety Training) Preferred Skills + Experience with Brownfield redevelopment projects. + Knowledge of NYC OER procedures and documentation. + GIS or environmental data management tools.
