Specific duties will include providing consultation on environmental laws, regulations and permit jurisdictions; assisting Environmental Analyst 2’s in conducting interdisciplinary regulatory reviews; conducting, under supervision of an Environmental Analyst 2, environmental impact assessments of proposed actions; assisting the public with the permit process both in person, using email and over the telephone; using variety of detailed maps to assess projects; using computer programs to manage, track and schedule project review activities; writing letters and other permit related documents; and arranging and conducting meetings with DEC staff and the public. Essential Functions:Must conduct field inspections of project sites including rough terrain in woodland and marsh locations. Must operate motor vehicles to access project sites. Experience limited to supervision of clerical staff, or interns is NOT qualifying.
