Job Overview:
Assigns work, coordinates activities of and works with cleaning staff. Aids in on the job training of environmental service employees.

Required:
Ability to speak, read and write English.Approximately one year experience as an environmental services aide in a hospital

Essential Functions:
Leadership skills to motivate staff in the absence of the manager/supervisorAbility to use computer applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to read, write and speak English in order to effectively communicateVerbal ability necessary to discuss assignments with environmental services aides, supervisor and managerTo train workers and to demonstrate cleaning techniques and equipmentAbility to understand and implement environmental services proceduresDust, damp mop, spot clean and disinfect fixtures, furnishings in both patient and non-patient areasVacuum and spot clean mats and carpets, as assignedEmpty, clean and re-line waste baskets. Transport regular and contaminated waste to the utility roomWash and disinfect bed/crib at discharge and prepare bed for new occupant.Follow isolation cleaning procedures when cleaning isolation rooms to prevent the spread of pathogensClean and disinfect daily bathroom fixtures, mirrors, windows, doors, walls (as far as can be reached) and replenish bathroom supplies if necessaryMaintains tools and equipment in good condition, is responsible for economical use of suppliesEnhances professional growth and development by attending inservices, required meetings and other educational programs
