Job DescriptionKEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic & System Oversight
Develop, implement, and continuously improve the Environmental Health & Safety Management System (EHSMS) across both properties.Ensure alignment with UAE laws, Dubai Municipality and Civil Defense regulations, and international standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.Plan and lead internal audits, compliance assessments, and management reviews.Risk & Compliance Management
Conduct regular risk assessments and maintain an up-to-date risk register.Lead investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses; ensure effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.Manage contractor safety protocols, permits to work (PTW), and chemical safety (MSDS documentation).Enforce PPE usage and compliance with established health and safety policies.Training & Safety Culture
Deliver comprehensive safety training programs, including staff inductions, emergency drills, first aid, and hazard identification.Promote a proactive safety culture through awareness campaigns and engagement of departmental safety champions.Support food safety training initiatives in compliance with HACCP and Dubai Municipality guidelines.Operational Compliance
Conduct regular inspections and audits in high-risk operational areas including kitchens, engineering, housekeeping, and recreational facilities.Monitor compliance with health and safety standards for water quality, air quality, pool safety, and pest control.Validate best practices for food receiving, storage, and handling in accordance with HACCP protocols.Reporting & Governance
Prepare and present monthly reports on EHS performance, including KPIs, training records, audit findings, and incident trends.Ensure complete and accurate documentation in compliance with ISO standards and local legal requirements.Contribute to ESG and sustainability reporting initiatives.Environmental Responsibility
Lead initiatives to reduce environmental impact through efficient use of energy, water, and waste management practices.Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and corporate sustainability goals.Support and maintain green building or sustainability certifications.People Management
Coordinate and engage cross-departmental safety representatives and safety committee meetings to ensure alignment and communication.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related fieldNEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent (mandatory)HACCP Level 4 (mandatory for food safety oversight)ISO 14001 / 45001 Lead Auditor certifications (preferred)Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a Health & Safety or EHS leadership roleProven track record managing EHS in hospitality or similar multi-site operationsFamiliarity with UAE legal requirements and enforcement authorities
