Join our client's dynamic team as an Environment Coordinator, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability within the oil and gas industry. Based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, you will be at the forefront of implementing innovative waste management strategies and environmental solutions across multiple projects.

Role Overview

Act as the main contact for implementing the Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) requirements. Focus on waste management by striving to meet the waste management hierarchy of reduce, reuse, recycle, dispose. Identify areas for improvement and update Procedures and Management Plans as necessary. Provide waste management and general environmental advice related to organic waste composting, waste segregation, and handling. Liaise with Waste Management Contractors to ensure data quality is maintained. Conduct general Environmental Management tasks including water analysis and soil sampling. Work with Contractors to ensure compliance with management plans and procedures. Maintain documentation and records management processes for tracking environmental compliance. Perform regular data analysis to identify opportunities for performance improvement. Deliver environmental training to raise awareness within the workforce. Assist in designing field visits and conducting dedicated audits. Manage environmental studies in compliance with relevant standards. Coordinate closely with Operations to address all environmental management needs. Provide administrative support to the Environment and Biodiversity Manager as needed. Conduct fieldwork in hot and humid conditions when required. Assist with regulatory processes and engagements.

Skills & Qualifications

Strong expertise in HSE and Environmental Regulations. Proficient in Environmental Monitoring techniques. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications. Experience with GIS Software and Environmental Databases Software is highly desirable.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Management, or Engineering. Regulatory compliance experience within the oil and gas context.
