You Are:
We are looking for an entry-level Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician to join our team in Frisco, TX. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in telecom or network operations. You will work closely with senior team members to monitor network health, respond to alarms, and support troubleshooting activities.
The opportunity:
· Monitor network systems and alarms using tools such as One Console, Splunk, or OpenSearch.
· Assist in troubleshooting and resolving basic network issues.
· Create and update tickets for network incidents and follow up as needed.
· Work with senior technicians to learn and support Mavenir or Ericsson IMS products.
· Participate in on-the-job training to grow your technical skills.
· Document actions taken during troubleshooting and issue resolution.
· Support maintenance activities and report any potential issues to senior staff.
This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.
What you need:
· Mandatory Skills (3–4):
· Basic understanding of telecom networks (GSM, LTE, IP, etc.).
· Familiarity with network monitoring tools or ticketing systems.
· Strong communication and teamwork skills.
· Willingness to learn IMS core/access technologies (e.g., TAS, CSCF, SBC).
· Preferred / Optional Skills:
· Exposure to Mavenir or Ericsson IMS platforms.
· Basic knowledge of scripting or automation tools.
· Experience with diagnostic tools like Wireshark or ping/traceroute (a plus, not required).
· Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED (required); Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Networking, IT, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).
· Strong interest in telecom or networking careers.
· 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships or school projects count!).
· Work Schedule:
· 10-hour shifts on a rotating schedule (day/night/weekends).
· Must be available for occasional support during outages or critical events outside regular hours.
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Texas
Compensation Range: $55,000-$83,000
Benefits
Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
