We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our team. This role will be responsible for setting up and running laboratory experiments, analyzing test specimens, and performing tasks related to materials selection and corrosion testing and analysis. This will primarily be physical testing and chemistry testing on materials that may be used for pipelines of all different kinds.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare solutions, clean test cells, move items throughout the lab, and calibrate equipment following prescribed procedures.Set up and run chemistry and physical laboratory experiments.Analyze test specimens.Perform tasks on projects relating to materials selection and corrosion testing and analysis, including experimental setup, data collection, and data reporting.Inspect, test, repair, and install equipment.Work independently on project activities under the supervision of the project investigator.Assist more experienced technicians, technologists, and professionals on technical assignments.Follow the Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Assurance program on projects.Record research activities performed in the lab book.QualificationsMust have a Bachelors Degree in a scientific field.Must have mechanical aptitude since you will be doing physical testing and working with machinery. This could be broad experience. Some examples listed below:Mechanical aptitude meaning: someone who feels comfortable working with their hands - maybe you've worked with machinery before, are someone who troubleshoots equipment often, or works on their own car for example. This does not have to be from a work environment, and thus doesn't necessarily have to be detailed out on your resume.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
