ROLE SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Credit Risk Strategy team develops, implements and maintains the underwriting strategy as well as customer management strategies for the consumer lending business at Goldman Sachs. We leverage traditional, alternative and behavioral data to create an underwriting policy that helps ensure risk-adjusted returns. We work extensively with the marketing, decision sciences, product and technology teams to help create a product and experience that puts the customer at the center. We are looking for individuals with strong problem solving and analytical skills, innovative thinking and intellectual curiosity who want to make an immediate impact on the credit strategy and help the business manage risk effectively. We’re looking for a professional to join our Credit Risk Strategy team who wants to use their skills and ideas to build the credit strategy for a digital consumer lending business at Goldman Sachs. Job Summary

Build new and optimize existing customer management strategies to improve customer level profitabilityAnalyze data (e.g. traditional and alternative bureau, behavioral & macroeconomic data) using statistical tools and analytical techniques to generate insights and optimize credit decisions (accept/ decline, pricing and credit line)Partner with marketing, finance, engineering and operations teams to ensure appropriate execution of credit policy requirementsAnalyze and evaluate potential vendors/data providers for incremental value in credit management strategies in a continuous improvement environmentKeep up to date on applicable regulations and compliance requirements by interacting with internal and external regulatorsCreate strong risk management and control culture to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory and policy requirementsDevelop analytical reports and presentations for senior management, executive committees and regulatory examCommunicate effectively and clearly with senior leadership as well as junior analysts and external partners

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s (Master’s preferred) degree (U.S. or equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering or a related field8+ years of relevant industry experience (preferably in a portfolio of large-scale accounts)Comprehensive knowledge of credit risk strategies for customer management policyExperience in design and implementation of credit risk policies driving profitability and analyzing portfolio healthExperience in design and execution of a credit testing strategy utilizing risk models and decision tree frameworksIndustry knowledge of how payments work, recession management frameworks, monitor competitive intelligence and drive product innovation

Prior work experience must include:

Working with U.S. Credit bureau data, Risk Scorecards, lending product financials especially P&L management for line management and account management programsDeveloping comprehensive risk management reports and visualizing complex data analyses and communicating to a wide variety of audiencesOverseeing multiple projects concurrently and driving end-to-end project deliveryDeveloping policy and procedures documentation for credit risk strategy executionDeveloping and automating quality control processes to ensure intended execution of credit strategiesHands-on experience with SAS, R, Python (or similar database query language) for extracting data from large datasets, statistical modeling and analyzing time-series dataExpertise with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
