The Košice branch of Diebold Nixdorf was officially opened in November 2017. We are a strategic delivery center where experts work in the areas of corporate infrastructure, application management, information security, as well as in teams dealing with IT processes. Since its beginning in Košice, the company has established itself on the local market of IT companies, we participate in job fairs, we have established cooperation with many schools and organize a lot of activities for our employees.
We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Linux Automation Engineer to play a key role in shaping the global Linux strategy within our evolving Engineering organization. This is a hands-on engineering position focused on defining, standardizing, and enabling the lifecycle of Linux services across a complex, large-scale enterprise environment.
This role is critical in driving intelligent automation, enhancing IT service delivery, and enabling proactive operations across complex infrastructure and application landscapes. The ideal candidate will architect scalable, event-driven automation and orchestration solutions that integrate seamlessly with observability and ITSM platforms, supporting robust IT service delivery at scale.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING AS ENTERPRISE LINUX AUTOMATION ENGINEER?
Architect and implement automation-first solutions for LINUX/UNIX infrastructure and application operations Build and manage event-driven automation pipelines using RedHat OpenShift Pipelines or similar CI/CD tools Lead initiatives to define, document, and continuously improve automation, orchestration, and observability services, including SLAs, KPIs, and onboarding Design and configure new Linux-based services to meet enterprise strategy, architecture, and security standards Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to embed automation and observability into service lifecycles from day one Provide leadership or collaborate in the technical configuration and service design of new Linux-based solutions Ensure security and compliance standards are embedded in all automation workflowsWHAT EXPERIENCE / SKILLS DO YOU NEED?
10+ years in enterprise IT environments, with a primary focus on LINUX/UNIX systems Experience developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Linux environments Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) in production environments Proven experience with automation and orchestration tools (Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, Python) and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CheckMK, ELK) Experience with enterprise-grade Kubernetes platforms and container management (Red Hat OpenShift) Background in service design, documentation, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., ITIL, DevOps) Strong emphasis on IT service delivery, automation, architecture, and orchestration across large-scale enterprise environments Strong understanding of security best practices for Linux systems, including hardening, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and drive a culture of automation and continuous improvement Experience in global IT environments with multi-region deployments. As part of a young, growing engineering team (35 people globally across Slovakia, India, and the US), you will drive an automation-first approach and build the foundation for how Linux systems are designed, delivered, operated, and consumed across our private cloud and data centers. You will work closely with architects, security, application teams, and operations to embed automation, observability, and service design principles from day one.
