Job Description

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Enterprise Data Office Co-Op supports the organization in one of two key functions: Data Engineering or Software Engineering.  Candidate will be placed based on skillset and current need of the business.  Co-Op will work as an engineer on an agile squad to assist in delivering value to our customers by applying technical skills and expertise to business and/or technical projects of a low to moderate level of complexity. As a member of an agile team you will be actively involved implementing new features and enabling capabilities using modern software engineering tools. Common skills could include SQL, Python, Java, dbt and other cloud-based technologies, as well as Data Management practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Active participation in all agile team ceremoniesPlays a key role as an individual contributor on projects or agile teamsCompletes work assignments in conjunction with more senior staff membersParticipates in other learning sessions within the EDO; actively closes knowledge gaps with the guidance of more senior staffWorks to increase knowledge of the industry and the applications processed by Fifth Third Bank through all available channels

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

4-year degree seeker in Information Technology or related degreeMinimum 3.0 GPAPrefer candidates that have relevant internship and/ or co-op program experiencePrefer candidates with experience with software development and/or programmingStrong SQL knowledgeGood oral and written communication skillsAbility to build relationshipsSelf-starter and proactive-problem solverCurious and inquisitive and a continual learnerOpen to changeCan balance group and individual workOpenly shares thoughts in constructive waysMust be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future
