This role is part of the Office of the CIDO (Chief Information Digital Officer), and reporting up to the Principal Enterprise Architect and plays an integral role in building a holistic view and roadmap of the Company’s enterprise technology strategy, processes and information technology roadmap. This role provides enterprise architecture expertise required to ensure technology investments, initiatives and projects can realize desired business benefits and create reusable corporate assets (data, solutions, and services). The role partners with both business and technology stakeholders to ensure that the proposed technology, services, and business solutions align with US Foods’ overall objectives and the Company’s mission and vision. Creates processes, standards, governance, portfolios, and/or innovates emerging technologies and services to result in achievement of the overall business vision. The role plays an important ownership on the overall enterprise architecture direction for the company, vision and defining the associated strategy in one or more domains, such as, business, data, technology, application etc. and influences value-stream architects across the IT organization to do the same. May direct staff members through direct or indirect oversight.
**Flexible Work Policy: The work for the Enterprise Architect position is completely remote anywhere in the United States except Hawaii or United States Territories.**
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Provides advancedexpertisein multiple technologies, including emerging technologies.
+ Develops or leads highly sophisticated architectures that require the integration of multiple technologies, addressing the interrelationships of multiple systems and serving diverse business partners.
+ Works with IT and business leadership in the development of key organizational strategies andtrends, andprovides context for the development of the strategy.
+ Provides vision and pragmaticexpertiseto the planning process, ensuring technology investments and strategies align with business requirements.
+ Directschanges to the I/T organization and processes that strike theoptimalbalance between performance, business partner satisfaction, and spend management.
+ Identifiesand prioritizes opportunities that drive spend initiatives, optimization efforts, and the total spend of ownership strategies.
+ Ensuresthe use of industry and enterprise technology standards across the organization.
+ Identifiesandleadsthe resolution ofhighly complextechnical problems.
+ Leads architecture design that is scalable to the enterprise, sector, and franchise level.
+ Develops publications and educates value-stream architects, business stakeholders on architecture plans, current and emerging technologies, and strategies.
+ Ensures the adherence to architectural standards.
+ Develops and maintains enterprise architecture in alignment with the overall IT vision, supporting the information needs of the business and/or may manage and perform research and discovery activities, vet ideas, explore and validate emerging technologies, trends and possibilities relevant to strategic and technical direction, while supporting business innovation and playing the role of a change agent.
+ Partners with business and technology subject-matter experts to elicit and translate business requirements into technological solutions. Partners with Solution Architects to provide a consensus based scalable and adaptable architectural solution.
+ Develops andmaintainspolicies, standards, and guidelines to ensure that a consistent framework is applied across the company. Manages and/orfacilitatesReview Boards to evaluate project and technology proposals forhealthcarearchitectural or technology fit.
+ Facilitate the sharing of architecture best practices throughout the architecture community and the IT organization byassistingin the creation of an architecture community of practice OR provide regular visibility and communicate the R&D findings and perspectives to executive leadership to help scope business and technology long term vision.
+ Synchronizes system/data security, quality, production infrastructure, solution user experience governance, and Non-Functional Requirements across solutions.
+ Provide guidance to Value-stream specific architects on key decisions (e.g., upgrade decisions, architectural decisions) and make decisions that must be made above the level of Solution/System/domain/ Architect.
+ Work closely with value-streams to drive architecture governance within applicationroadmaps, andensure the technology standard is implemented across the organization.
+ Mentors and guides less experienced architects through onboarding, training, or development.
+ Communicates "big picture" to Business and IT stakeholders at all levels of the organization to achieve alignment with target state architecture and roadmap by domain or by value-stream.
**SUPERVISION:**
+ Dotted line supervision of1to3Solution Architects in value-streams on large Enterprise initiatives.
+ Supervision of third-party architecture consultants.
**RELATIONSHIPS: **
Internal: Requires strong collaboration with multiple teams within IT, as well as, across several business areas. Direct relationships will exist between other areas of development, QA, infrastructure, security, and business facing IT groups.
External: Regular interactions with technology partners and contract vendors will be required as a key part of this role. The ability to create statements of work, negotiate rates, and working with technology vendors for technical issues will be a heavy requirement for this role.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
+ BS/BA in computer science or related,Mastersdegree desirable, certifications in web-based technologies, Cloud and project management a plus.
+ 10+ years of ITarchitecture, ordata experience, or software development and project management experience using waterfall and agile methods.
+ At least 3 years of leadership experience in Architecture Strategy, Roadmap, and technologies.
+ Experience in domain-specific architecture concepts and emerging technologies (Design patterns, frameworks, value-based healthcare solutions, cloud technologies, public cloud technologies).
+ Experience creating and promoting guiding development principles and influencing development teams, business users, management, and leadership in adoption of technical and service-based solutions.
+ Experience leading enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework).
+ Experienceestablishing& maintainingrelationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community & with vendors. Experience coordinating andfacilitatingexecutive management meetings.
+ Significant experience(2-3 years or more at a minimum) in the Agile development process.
+ Significant experienceleading teams of experienced ITprofessional, preferably architects.
+ Experience with product team modelsandits collaborationwith enterprise architecture.
+ Broad experience building complex solutions both from an application and infrastructureperspectives.
**Related Experience: **
+ Proventrack recordon leading software development teams in a matrixed environment.
+ Experience with event managementand streamingintegrationplatforms.
+ Experience with enterprisemiddlewarelike MuleSoftand Boomi.
+ 10+ years of architecture or software development and project management experience using waterfall and agile methods.
+ 10+ years of experience with application rationalization, capabilities mapping and technology roadmaps.
+ Distributed applications and mobile applicationsexpertise.
+ Experience with database technologies including Oracle, JDBC, SQL, NoSQL, Datagridetc.
+ Experience with DevOps, continuousintegrationand continuous delivery.
+ Experience architecting Cloud or SaaS applications.
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: **
+ Enterprise Architecture management tools like SAPLeanIX.
+ Microsoft Collaboration tools like Teams, Loop, Copilot.
+ Agile tools such as JIRA,Monday.comand Confluence.
+ Complex event processing platforms.
+ Experience with ERP deployment.
+ Data lake, business analytics.
+ Azure andAmazon Web Service.
This role will also receive annual incentive plan bonus.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between
$115,000 - $185,000
