Enterprise Architect

Job Overview

We are looking for a visionary and experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the strategic design and evolution of our retail technology ecosystem. The Enterprise Architect proactively and holistically leads and supports architecture activities that guide the development and management of a portfolio of solutions under the Enterprise Architecture scope. Solutions include, but not limited to, loyalty engines, ecommerce engines, content management systems, digital asset management systems, mobile apps, websites, personalization engines, recommendation engines, customer data platforms, master data platforms, in-store digital screens, ERP, HRMS, and POS.

The Enterprise Architect understands the concepts of business goals, objectives and business outcomes, business capabilities, value-streams, and business processes and their importance in solution architecture. The architect provides the necessary leadership, analysis and design tasks related to support the development of technology solutions to ensure that solutions meet business needs and align with architectural governance and standards. The architect creates deliverables that enable the creation and management of a portfolio of "to be" and "as is" solutions — including systems, shared infrastructure services, and shared application services and components to enable and drive targeted business outcomes.

The ideal candidate understands the fast-changing retail landscape and can align technology with business goals to drive growth, operational efficiency, and personalized customer experiences.

The Enterprise Architect reports to the Director, Enterprise Architecture.

Key ResponsibilitiesArchitectural Vision: Develop and maintain the enterprise architectural blueprint, roadmaps, and standards that align with the company's long-term business goals.Strategic Planning: Collaborate with business leaders and IT teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions and strategic architectural plans.Technology Governance: Establish and enforce architectural principles and governance processes to ensure solutions are scalable, reusable, and secure.Portfolio Management: Manage the enterprise application and technology portfolio, identifying opportunities to modernize, consolidate, and innovate.Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, communicating complex architectural concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization.Innovation & Research: Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and architectural best practices, and recommend their adoption where appropriate.Team Collaboration: Mentor and guide solution architects and development teams, ensuring a consistent and high-quality approach to technology design and implementation.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience8+ years of experience in IT, with at least 3–5 years in enterprise or solution architecture rolesExposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environmentsDeep understanding of retail operations and technologies, including e-commerce, POS, inventory management, supply chain, and customer engagementGood understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies and capability of supporting agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact, and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debtExperience developing architecture blueprints, strategies, and roadmapsExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among diverse teamsDesired QualificationsExperience in developing and implementing enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman)Experience working in the retail or convenience store industry, preferably with a global brand like Circle KUnderstanding of security, data privacy, and compliance standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR)
