Engineers, Software located in Overland Park, KS will assist with information technology solutions by analyzing systems requirements, existing business processes, and information systems.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Code, test, debug, and document software applications while collaborating with a team to manage and develop microservices using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud that support T-Mobile's new modernized APIs developing for NorthStar architecture that serve all the frontends.

Analyze solution documents to understand requirements and create Integration Design Documents (IDD) and Swagger documentation for RESTful APIs to ensure alignment with business goals and technical feasibility.

Develop and test microservices using Spring Framework and JEE, and assist with deploying applications using Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, and Helm in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.

Create and manage API proxies using Apigee to enhance API performance and security, while monitoring application logs to identify and troubleshoot issues.

Conduct unit and integration testing to validate the functionality and performance of developed microservices, ensuring high-quality output and maintainability.

Specific Skills Requirement - must have educational or professional experience in:

Experience coding with Core Java concepts, including Collections, Multithreading, Concurrency, Exception Handling, Serialization, Java I/O (NIO), Generics, Lambda Expressions, Streams API, and JDBC.

Experience with SQL databases including MySQL or PostgreSQL. Experience coding with NoSQL databases including MongoDB, Cassandra and Couchbase.

Experience coding with frameworks including Hibernate and JPA to implement business logic, access and manage data efficiently, and ensure optimized data retrieval and manipulation.

Experience in developing Microservices using the REST framework and Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, service discovery, configuration management, API gateway functionalities, OAuth 2.0, Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, AWS SNS and AWS SQS to implement robust authentication and authorization, as well as synchronous and asynchronous flow of data between services.

Experience using OpenAPI, Apigee, and Envoy API management platforms. Experience with Kibana, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana and OTEL for documenting, securing, monitoring, and analyzing logs to ensure observability and efficient troubleshooting of microservices.

Experience using JUnit5, Mockito, TestNG, Rest Assured, DataManager, Cucumber, WireMock, Postman and SoapUI to test applications.

Experience writing Python scripts utilizing NumPy for data analysis and integrated frameworks including Pandas for data manipulation. Experience writing Python scripts utilizing Matplotlib or comparable tools including Seaborn, Plotly for visualization, to monitor API health, generate comprehensive reports on performance metrics including response times and error rates, and present actionable insights to leadership while collaborating with teams to align findings with organizational goals.

Experience with MuleSoft (Mule 4) features, including DataWeave, API Designer, and components including HTTP, File, SMTP, FTP, SFTP, JDBC Connector and Transaction Manager to create the microservice.

Experience automating the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) process to deploy applications in both on-premises environments and the AWS Cloud using version control tools including GIT and deployment tools including Docker, Kubernetes, Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins, and AWS services including ECS (Elastic Container Service), EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service), CloudFormation and Terraform.

Experience and education requirements:

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related, and one year of relevant work experience.

ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related, and three years of relevant work experience.

Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must work from the worksite location at least 3-4 days per week. No additional national or international travel is anticipated.

Candidate’s pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
