ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN - Plant 10

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of an Associate degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical technology or related field from an accredited institution.Minimum of one year experience working in an engineering or manufacturing environment.​Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

2 years of work experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.Reading blueprints / specifications. Understanding of production processes and manufacturing related metrics.Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Microsoft Excel.Ability to work independently and in a team collaborating with others.

This weekend-crew position will be located in our Whitehall Casting, Plant 10 Operations.

Summary: The manufacturing engineering technician role provides technical support to ensure continuous flow of parts, materials and information by addressing issues that arise to drive velocity through the plant.

Acts as a liaison between engineering, manufacturing, other functions to expedite product flowContinually address issues with problem-solving techniques that impact velocity and solve issues identified to root causeProactively identify and address potential problems or constraints in the production process for improvements or cost reduction Interact with engineering to drive tooling, NPI and process improvementsSupports engineering and manufacturing with data collection, compiling information and analysis to support process controlCoordinate information flow, e.g., reviews shift reports and connects with supervisors to determine areas for focus, communicates material requests, etc. – provides updates on issues and resolution to appropriate functions within the plantKeeps workstations stocked with material replenishmentSupport operations as a contact in out-of-cycle tasks related to raw materials, parts, removal of waste, moving kanban cards, updates to electronic productivity and other status boards, missing instructions, quality issues, etc. Coordinates with engineering to understand risk of deviations and variations in processes
