Engineering Technician IV - Instrumentation

As an Engineering Technician IV, you will be using your skills and expertise to perform a variety of instrumentation duties in support of test in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. You'll be responsible for constructing, troubleshooting, calibrating, testing, and maintaining our equipment, components, devices, or systems. This position is situated within a dynamic team-focused environment, emphasizing the planning and execution of comprehensive testing for systems and air vehicles. You'll ensure our systems and components meet established specifications.

Responsibilities

Install and configure flight test instrumentation hardwareInstall wiring and transducers for instrumentation systemsProgram the instrumentation system using Das Studio software to collect and analyze dataUnderstand flight test requirementsTroubleshoot and resolve issues with instrumentation systems during flight testsDevelop and maintain documentation for instrumentation systems

Qualifications You Must Have:

Associate's degree in a related field of study and 6 or more years of experience A higher level degree may substitute for experienceRelated experience may be considered in lieu of required educationAbility to understand and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publicationsThorough understanding of the use of standard laboratory test equipment, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, Oscilloscope,  Pitot static equipment, other measurement equipment, hand tools, and power toolsAdvanced skills with assembly, connectors and crimping techniquesStrain gauge experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

Familiarity with FCC and FCC GROLBasic skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, and wiring installationUnderstanding of soldering techniquesPrevious experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience with 3-D CAD softwareBackground in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, NASA, the US Department of Defense or US MilitaryExposure to simulations through functional and logical models and system analysisExperience with digital or analog circuit analysisFlight test instrumentation experience
