Job Title: Engineering Technician

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Engineering Technician to join our team. This role involves producing daily field reports on concrete testing, basic construction quality assurance (CQA), and geosynthetics. The position is based in Virginia and requires a willingness to perform extensive fieldwork. Responsibilities:

Oversee contractor activities and performance on various projects, including remediation projects, landfill construction, and industrial process projects.Perform field and on-site laboratory tests on soil, geosynthetics, aggregates, and other materials primarily associated with landfill and waste containment system construction.Monitor activities on job sites to ensure compliance with relevant contract documents, including technical specifications, construction drawings, sampling plans, and CQA plans.Provide CQA monitoring on several types of construction and environmental activities on enviro-civil construction sites.Perform multi-media sampling in support of investigations, monitoring programs, and other data collection-centric projects.Prepare daily and weekly field reports, construction schedules, and progress reports.Ensure project documentation is accurate and consistent with company policy and procedures.Interact with project personnel, including contractors, project managers, engineers, and clients, and assist in cultivating an integrated team approach through open communication and participation in work progress meetings.Assist in the preparation of final reports, work plans, health and safety documents, and the assembly of report appendices.Observe and abide by the policies and procedures outlined in the site-specific project health and safety plans and the company’s Environmental Health and Safety Management policies and procedures.Perform tasks in other company practice areas, including general construction services, environmental sampling, contractor oversight, and construction quality assurance activities, as needed.

Essential Skills:

Concrete testing experience with ACI certification.2+ years of experience in construction material testing (CMT), including concrete, soils, and geosynthetics.Proficiency in CQA inspections.Basic mathematical capabilities, including square yardage, lengths, basic geometry, and algebra.Strong report writing skills, including daily field reports using Microsoft Office products.Experience with multi-media sampling, including soil, water, air, and geosynthetics.Ability to comprehend construction plans and specifications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Nuclear Gauge, ACI, ICC Soils Certifications are a plus but not required.Water sampling experience is a great perk.Self-starter, trustworthy, punctual, and able to work independently without supervision.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
