Engineering Technician
Entry Level Electrical Engineer! (Test Technician) Job Description Join a dynamic team where you will be responsible for performing test duties and troubleshooting to the component level on complex electrical products. You will diagnose test equipment or fixture failure, take corrective action, and set up and adjust manual and/or automatic test equipment. Collaboration with Engineering and Manufacturing teams will be crucial to ensure clarity of design and improve manufacturing processes. You will record and provide detailed reports of technical problems to Test Engineers, Design Engineers, or Test Supervisors. Your role will also involve determining methods and sequences for new assignments and providing guidance to department personnel. Responsibilities + Perform test duties and troubleshooting to the component level on complex electrical products. + Diagnose test equipment or fixture failure and take corrective action. + Set up and adjust manual and/or automatic test equipment. + Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams on design clarity and manufacturing improvements. + Record and report technical problems to Test Engineers, Design Engineers, or Test Supervisors. + Determine methods and sequences for new assignments and provide guidance to department personnel. + Participate in cross training to other job functions as required. + Coordinate work assignments with the supervisor to meet department schedules. Essential Skills + Proficiency in troubleshooting and testing circuits. + Experience with oscilloscopes and schematics. + Ability to operate test equipment and test automation hardware. + Capability to develop test plans. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar + Prior experience troubleshooting to the component level on aerospace electronics. + Understanding of basic math and engineering principles. + Basic knowledge of CAD for simple drawings. + Understanding of schematics and circuitry. Work Environment This role involves working on the shop floor in a bench technician environment alongside a team. The work area is relatively quiet compared to other companies. Some tasks will be completed in a cubicle environment, focusing on basic design work such as test fixtures and straightforward line drawings. The company is large and busy, offering a career-oriented opportunity for those willing to dedicate 5 to 10 years. Candidates will gain extensive exposure to military, aerospace, and commercial electronics in this role. The company supports growth with internal training, multi-location training across business units, and management development programs. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
