Engineering Technician
Job Title: Engineering TechnicianJob Description Lead the assembly and encapsulation of all transducers in the product line, including single beam, multi-beam, altimeter, and special application transducers. This role involves electro-mechanical assembly of transducer components and subassemblies, emphasizing precision layout of transducer elements and components in staves and arrays. The position also includes final assembly of sonar transducers, cable preparation, wiring, soldering, cable dressing, and urethane encapsulation. In-process and final transducer testing and pressure testing are integral to the role, along with supporting engineering prototype fabrication. Responsibilities + Electro-mechanical assembly of transducer components and subassemblies using various fixtures, hand tools, and hardware. + Conduct final assembly of sonar transducers, including cable preparation, wiring, soldering, and urethane encapsulation. + Perform in-process and final transducer testing and pressure testing. + Support engineering prototype fabrication. + Perform assignments in a timely manner following schedules and procedures. + Contribute to documentation, process, and product improvements. + Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area. + Provide general mechanical assembly support and other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Solid electro-mechanical assembly, wiring, and soldering skills. + Ability to read, understand, and work from industry-standard manufacturing documentation and engineering notes. + Experience with general PC operation, Microsoft Word and Excel, and file management. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Detail-oriented with meticulous workmanship and organizational skills. + Proficiency in electronics, soldering, troubleshooting, assembly, and using tools such as oscilloscopes, schematics, prototypes, work instructions, multimeters, and PCBs. Work Environment You will work in a small manufacturing facility equipped with office space. The company is expanding its capabilities and taking on more Navy work, providing an exciting opportunity to contribute to its growth. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
