Job Title: Engineering Technician
Job Description

The Lead Electrical & Prototype Engineering Technician will play a pivotal role in the development and assembly of next-generation zero-emission refrigerated trailer systems. Based in our R&D facility, this position will lead prototype builds, perform electrical diagnostics, and collaborate with engineering teams to transition products from concept to pre-production.

ResponsibilitiesLead the prototype build of 75 TRU Power 6000 units by year-end.Collaborate with R&D teams on design, prototyping, and testing.Perform CANalyzer testing, including reading and interpreting fault codes and telematics output.Troubleshoot electrical systems and build custom wire harnesses.Support quality assurance, environmental testing, and instrumentation.Write clear and detailed assembly instructions and documentation.Provide feedback and assist in design revisions as needed.Support commissioning and evaluation of pre-production units.Handle material movement, storage, and shipping preparation.Travel up to 5% of the time to dealership locations to support system installation on customer trailers and provide product service in the field.Kit and ship finished goods to customers or project sites according to project timelines.Essential SkillsProficiency in CANalyzer or similar diagnostic tools.Ability to interpret schematics and build wire harnesses from scratch.Experience writing technical documentation and assembly procedures.Proactive mindset and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced R&D environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with electrical systems, CAN bus diagnostics, and prototype assembly.Engineering, electronics, test equipment, and blueprint knowledge.Work Environment

Located in MI, the R&D prototype facility offers a fast-moving, collaborative, and innovation-driven work environment. The culture is mission-driven, inclusive, and focused on sustainability and technical excellence. This full-time, hourly position requires working on-site with a small team of three employees.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
