Engineering Technician role at Flex involves performing hands-on debugging, validation, and system-level failure analysis of next-generation server and rack systems within a high-mix, high-ambiguity manufacturing environment.
This position requires advanced technical skills and the ability to provide guidance and training to other technical personnel
The technician will collaborate with engineering teams, contribute to documentation, and monitor equipment productivity while adhering to safety guidelines
Troubleshoots and repairs complex mechanical and electrical assemblies used in equipment at the component level
Installing and configuring infrastructure including servers, racks, switches and other hardware including liquid cooling, power
Provides technical assistance and guidance to other technical personnel
Collaborates with engineering on functionality issues and procedure updates
Presents training, when necessary, to the new build and service assembler teams
Contributes to the development of work instructions, batch records, equipment logs, material specifications and other device history documents
Helps monitor productivity of our equipment by tracking yields and equipment cycle rates
Assists with the installation, debug and validation of Test equipment
Follows all safety guidelines and reports unsafe conditions to supervisor
Develops and maintains Debug Guide to troubleshoot PCBA
Provides training and PCBA debugging guidance to other debug technicians
SPECIALIZED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES may be required for certain positions. These could include one or more of the following duties:
Assist with the development and delivery of customer presentations and interface with customers.
Partner with engineers on outside third-party developments
Organize documentation (specifications, schematics, and procedures).
Perform tests per customer specifications and requirements.
Education / Experience
Typically requires an Associates degree, military training, equivalent vocational training, or equivalent experience. Typically requires 8 years of related experience
