Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: Inspection/Area of Certification + Monitors construction signage for compliance with Departmental requirements. + Inspects contractor construction procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality assurance. + Collects required samples and tests materials that are to be included in the project. + Performs soil densification tests using nuclear density machine. + Receives profile data and evaluates pavement surfaces to determine longitudinal surface acceptability. + Takes all pertinent measurements including but not limited to length, width and depth verification. Office Duties + Indexes. + Labels and itemizes pay items in the project document records. + Recapitulates project document records for final audit. Computes and validates project quantities. + Obtains additional training as needed or required. + Uses computer engineering applications as required by Departmental policy. Design Of projects + Collects field data including cross sections, draws field sketches and calculates quantities related to Standard Departmental Design practices.
