Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly collaborative Technical Writer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining technical documentation that supports our engineering processes, product development, and compliance requirements. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on performance and business needs.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation, including engineering specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), user manuals, installation guides, test plans, and reports.Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and QA teams to gather technical information.Translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly documentation for internal and external audiences.Ensure documentation complies with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.Manage version control and documentation updates throughout the product lifecycle.Support internal knowledge base and training materials as needed.Essential SkillsTechnical writing in an engineering capacity, including CDRLs, engineering test plans, ECOs, SOPs, and work instructions.Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Engineering, or a related field.2+ years of experience in a technical writing role, preferably within an engineering or manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of engineering terminology and documentation standards.Proficiency with documentation tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Confluence or similar platforms.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with CAD drawings, engineering change orders (ECOs), or PLM systems.Familiarity with AS9100 documentation standards.Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-tech industries.Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
