**Who will you be working with?**
The Wabtec Mining team delivers world class electric drive propulsion systems for heavy haul mining trucks with payloads up to 400T. These systems are introducing new technology to help mines meet their sustainability goals.
**How will you make a difference?**
The Engineer Technical Leader is responsible for steering the Mining rotating equipment (Alternator, Traction Motor, Blower, etc.) technology for the Wabtec mining drive system and applications. The incumbent will have ownership of an overall customer interface, ensuring requirements are communicated, verified, validated, and documented properly to ensure successful rotating equipment application in Mining Drive Systems.
**What do we want to know about you?**
+ Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering, physics, or computer science discipline.
+ Minimum of ten years’ experience in a heavy industrial/electrical/mechanical equipment design environment.
**What will your typical day look like?**
+ Responsible for overall mining systems rotating equipment specification, customer interface, supply chain interface, service interface, validation testing, and other items assigned.
+ Interfaces directly with product management, lead systems engineer and customer regarding application, performance, reliability requirements. Coordinates and may perform any customer field testing required to verify and validate design, performance or application capability.
+ Coordinates with lead systems engineers and customers as needed to document and communicate requirements to the electric machine’s designers, structural engineers, gear engineers, production, supplier, and test resources to ensure electric machine design meets all requirements. Champions the implementation of changes to requirements during life cycle.
+ Directs equipment assembly and/or disassembly, documenting remarkable findings according to business needs.
+ Coordinates and maintains status of subsystem component type testing and system performance testing required to verify and validate design, characterize the machine electrical, thermal and mechanical parameters.
+ Communicates to other stakeholders the validation testing requirements from conception to execution of tests and disposition of material.
+ Leads failure analysis and issue resolution within the rotating equipment subsystem.
+ Participate in field reviews of preproduction and serial production equipment. Drives service manual development, constructs parts bulletins. Interfaces with Services, Product Definition and Technical Publications personnel to ensure construction of high-quality manuals.
+ Provides guidance to less experienced engineers to enable project execution on time and within specification.
+ Collates information from cross-functional teams and professionally communicates essential business information (technical design reviews, budgetary estimations, feasibility studies, field reliability exposure) to leadership, senior engineers, customers, as required utilizing approved business processes.
You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between
$77,400.00-$110,300.00
The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com .
