Job Responsibilities:

Scope of Position:

Assists the Engineering department on various projects and initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

3rd or 4th year of university working towards an engineering degree, or equivalentSome product design and CAD design experience (preferably with Solid Works or Draft Sight), proficiency in mechanical draftingStrong documentation, organizational and project management skillsMust be able to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English. 

Job Specific Responsibilities:

Assists in part proposal drawings: starting from rough design concepts up to detail/final drawings.Responsible for all drawing information including: tolerance/fits, GDT specifications and surface finishes to required standards. Assists with Manufacturing Engineer with ergonomic initiatives, projects and data entry.Coordinates all continuous improvement suggestions brought to the Engineering department’s attention, ensuring follow up and timely implementation.Maintains part interim stage drawings.Participates in the design of fixtures, tools, gauges, molds and dies. Responsible for all pertinent drawings and parts list. Maintains and updates CAD files library. Ensures design sketches/concepts are in compliance with Health, Safety, & Environmental legislation/best practices.Available for discussion in setting up for initial production runs, and as requested in resolving production problems on new products. Maintains proper filing system to ensure all information are properly stored and easily retrieved.Initiate plans and ideas for cost cutting and/or quality improvement measures.Other duties and tasks as assigned by the Engineering Manager or designate.Awareness, Unity, Empowerment:
