Responsible for leading QOS initiatives within the production department.  Drive adherence to Ford Quality procedures and requirements.

What you'll do…

Act as single point of contact for quality within assigned area for all other internal and external contacts (production teams, Product Development, STA, suppliers, MP&L, etc).Coordinate during quality concerns containment actions, dock holds, special checks to eliminate any impact to customer.  Document and control error proofing checks, internal checks, and additional containments.  Keep traceability records regarding quality actions for future reference.Manage quality documentation on FTT, 8Ds, Scrap, Dock Holds, Dock Audit, BSAQ etc.Participate in Quality and Contamination audits.Prepare standard reports for Quality reviews within the plant and with other areas.Lead cross functional team initiatives in quality to achieve internal and external quality targets (leading and lagging indicators)Lead 8D resolution of Warranty and VO concerns working together with Quality, MP&L, Machining and VO.Lead Green/ Black Belt projects within the department as appropriateWork with QLSCM, Quality Works, OBL, CDCII, and other required systemsLead data-driven risk assessment compilation for proper decision-making by leadership teamApply engineering principles & analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and productsImplement interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D tool, 6 panel, etc.Manage and direct statistical process control activitiesKnowledge of and ability to execute measurement systems analysis & variable data analysisEstablish and monitor quality target levels for each buildProvide input for design and assembly concepts which will yield nominal variationsEstablish critical characteristics for gauging and measuring data collection methodsDetermine inspection equipment and facility requirementsSupport expedited concern resolution with cross functional teams including the Quality Department, Production and SuppliersReview internal/external suppliers for critical characteristics process compatibilityReview incoming quality concerns to maintain quality with assigned area; must have experience with initiating containment, determining root cause and implementing corrective actions.  Work with production teams, product teams, STA, and suppliers to drive robust problem solving.Complete PPAP’s and support new model launchesActively participate in forward planning, product design Forward Planning and Product Design to ensure MTC process is followed.
