**Job Description**
AECOM Burnaby is hiring a highly experienced **Lead for Engineering Services During Construction (ESDC)** to oversee and coordinate engineering support throughout the construction phase of a major transit infrastructure project involving elevated guideway & stations, power propulsion substations, and ancillary site works associated with such infrastructure. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and specialists to ensure technical compliance, support issue resolution, and provide oversight on design intent, constructability, and change management while driving requirements and obligations associated with Engineer of Record needs for project close out.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ **Lead and manage** the ESDC services providing engineering support across stations, guideway, and PPS during construction.
+ Manage **client expectations** regarding engineering support and ensure alignment with project objectives.
+ Coordinate **timely responses** to RFIs, NCRs, Site Instructions, and other construction-related queries.
+ Coordinate with design teams and sub-consultants to resolve construction-phase technical issues.
+ Support the management of **design changes** , and collaborate with commercial teams for cost/time implications as it relates to RFI’s, NCRs and Site requests.
+ Ensure that designated field monitors witness and review installed work prior to final sign-off, and attend required site meetings accordingly.
+ Work with project teams and stakeholders to put the work processes and workflows for **ESDC work components** like RFI’s, Construction document submittals, record drawings and construction certificates.
+ Watch and observe the **ESDC procedures** during construction phase, and provide input to optimizations where required.
+ Collaborate with the Document Control team to ensure the record is maintained for all post IFC key technical decisions and design changes.
+ Confirm accuracy and completeness of project **close out documentation** .
+ Collaborate with other Contractor and client on the **project close-out and Handover plan.**
+ Report regularly on construction phase engineering activities to project leadership.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Building Structural, or related Engineering field with 6 years of related experience;
+ PENG or MBA or PMP
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Advanced degree preferred.
+ Professional Engineering (P.Eng. or equivalent) license required.
+ **10+ years of engineering experience** , with at least **6 years on major transit or infrastructure projects** involving guideway and stations, preferably for driverless vehicle technology.
+ Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and constructability for complex transit environments, with background in rail systems a plus.
+ Proven experience leading engineering support during construction on design-build, progressive design-build, or P3 delivery models in complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
+ Strong understanding of ASME as it relates to building infrastructure.
+ Experience in similar roles for vertical infrastructure in BC Lower Mainland.
+ Experience with design review, construction support, and coordination between design and construction teams.
+ Excellent stakeholder engagement; strong communication and team leadership skills.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $110000 to $175000.
