Job Description:
HPE’s Campus & Branch (C&B) Networking Business Unit is seeking a full-time Principal Program Manager to join our talented team that builds high quality technology solutions that revolutionize wireless and wired networks, powered by Artificial Intelligence in the cloud. C&B provides services through SaaS applications to several Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 customers. You'll manage SaaS operations projects from concept through to launch, especially in Federal environment, You will be responsible to improve performance and cloud availability for customers. You will also manage the progress of critical engineering deliverables. You will collaborate with developers, SREs, and product management team, on a day-to-day basis. You will also work with other organizations, like IT, vendors, and other business units within HPE to manage cloud operations related activities. The improvements you implement will be felt by the entire organization. This role requires deep knowledge of program/project management and knowledge of AWS/GCP cloud environments.
Primary Accountabilities:
Develop project plans for C&B engineering cloud operations, compliance, and key engineering projects, especially in Federal environmentManage programs for product development.Establish tracking mechanisms to measure and track these objectivesIdentify key stakeholders, their roles on the project and their upstream and downstream system dependenciesManage regular stand-up meetingsManage project execution to adhere to the project budget, scope and scheduleReport statuses, progress, risks, and deviations to the executive leadership and key stakeholdersIdentify, track, and ensure resolution of issues and removal of barriers
Qualifications/Requirements:
12+ years of experience working in Program/Project Management in a software engineering organizationMust have technical understanding of SaaS operations and basic cloud securityMust have experience managing large scale programs and manage multiple prioritiesBe a self-starter who welcomes responsibility, along with the ability to thrive in an evolving organization and an ability to bring structure to unstructured situationsMust have an understanding of legal risk and complianceAbility to partner with a multi-tiered and matrixed organization model to deliver complex programs.Task oriented, able to plan, track, lead and execute project deliverables in an Agile organizationStrong communication skills/able to persuade/influence others at all organization levelsFoster lasting relationships across varying organizational levels and business segments with the maturity to interface with all levels of managementExcellent written & verbal communication skillsExposure to big data technologies and managing projects with distributed systems technologies is a plus
Special Skills – Desired:
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Google CloudSoftware development life cycle (SDLC) experienceKnowledge of networking domainAgile Scrum experienceUnderstanding of cloud security and operationsAutomation experienceRequired field of study
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems (or similar)
