Job Description:
The ideal candidate is responsible for providing senior leadership for Department of Defense programs, leading project development from inception to deployment, with expertise in the management and control of funds and resources using complex reporting mechanisms. The candidate will demonstrate capability in managing multiple tasks of various types and complexity, providing technical direction of multiple complex projects to project personnel, and responsibility for all aspects of performance and the overall direction of all project activities and personnel. The candidate will interface effectively with customers and demonstrate technical experience with complex hardware or software programs, including Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) or prototyping programs.

The candidate performs the following specific assignments:Leads project development from inception to deploymentManages and controls funds and resources using complex reporting mechanismsManages multiple tasks of various types and complexityProvides technical direction for complex projects and personnelTakes responsibility for all aspects of performance and direction of project activitiesInterfaces with customers on project requirements and statusApplies technical expertise to complex hardware or software RDT&E programsDevelops and maintains Program Plans, Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M), work breakdown structures, and financial documentationHosts project team, planning, and status meetingsParticipates in reviews such as Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), and program management reviewsEnsures compliance with contract requirements and applicable policiesMonitors risk and develops mitigation strategiesExperience Required:Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or PhysicsAt least seven (7) years of senior leadership and program manager experience supporting Department of Defense programsOR ten (10) years of senior leadership and program manager experience supporting Department of Defense programs without degreeExperience Desired:Technical experience with asymmetric warfare products in one or more areas: Embedded Technologies, Networking and Communication Systems, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Situational AwarenessExperience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira)Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teamsExperience with government reporting requirements and CDRL deliverablesExperience with DoD acquisition processesSpecial Skills/Knowledge/Training Required/Desired:Project Management Professional (PMP) certificationExperience with NSWCDD or Navy programsExperience with classified program managementBenefits:Medical, Dental, and Vision  Short Term Disability (at no cost to you) and Long-Term DisabilityLife Insurance  Flex Spending Accounts401(k) Savings Plan  Tuition Assistance Program  Professional DevelopmentPaid Time Off (PTO)  11 Federal Holidays each year  SimIS, Inc. is an AA / EOE / M / F / Disability / VET / Drug Free Employer
