Engineering Ops Director - Northeast Job ID 231256 Posted 28-Jul-2025 Service line GWS Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Building Management, Engineering/Maintenance, Facilities Management Location(s) Bangor - Maine - United States of America, Boston - Massachusetts - United States of America, Hartford - Connecticut - United States of America, Smithfield - Rhode Island - United States of America **About the role** As a CBRE Engineering Ops Director, you will lead the team responsible for managing the performance of MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems) and maintaining continuity throughout to provide overall quality control for all properties including over 3M square feet. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. **What you’ll do** + Will have a territory that spans the Northeast from PA to Canada. + Lead all aspects of a business unit's financial performance. + Seek out new business. This includes the identification of opportunities, engaging in client solicitations, proposal developments, and crafting presentations. (Not applicable to all GWS specific roles, but they may seek opportunities for improvements). + Approve hiring contractors and subcontractors based on facility need. Implement bidding procedures as required for contract maintenance activities. + Direct the daily operation of facility controls and asset management systems. + Approve annual operating budgets. + Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and mentor. Coordinate the recruiting and hiring of new employees. + Coordinate and lead the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed. + Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Persuade managers and other colleagues to take action while being guided by the organization's functional business plans. Negotiate with external partners, vendors, and customers of divergent interests to reach a common goal. + Identify and solve multi-dimensional, complex, operational and organizational problems using the appropriate resources within or outside the department. + Significantly improves and changes existing methods, processes and standards. **What you'll need** + Will be traveling to Canada for the role, so a US passport will be required. + Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field preferred with 8-12 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. + Mechanical or Electrical degreed engineer preferred. + Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred. + Leadership skills to set, lead and achieve targets with a direct impact on multiple department results within a function. + Proficient in Microsoft Office products. The minimum salary for the Engineering Ops Director position is $ 160,000 annually [or $76.92 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Engineering Ops Director position is $170,000 annually [or $81.73 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
