What will you do
In this leadership role, you will guide and expand Trane Technologies' Systems Simulation capabilities. You will collaborate closely with global product teams to deliver innovative, model‑driven engineering solutions for HVAC product development.
Leadership and Collaboration
• Lead and inspire a team of systems engineers in applying system simulation techniques.
• Partner with global and internal product teams to align engineering objectives and integrate systems engineering practices effectively.
Organizational Goals & Engineering Support
• Translate organizational goals into team objectives and ensure engineering alignment
• Provide technical direction, problem‑solving support, and subject‑matter guidance
Workforce Planning
• Own workforce planning to ensure adequate staffing and skill readiness in Systems Engineering disciplines
Budget & Resource Management
• Contribute to annual operating plans
• Provide inputs for engineering budgets, resource allocation, and productivity improvements
Project Management & Accountability
• Oversee end‑to‑end project execution with accountability for quality, delivery, and technical excellence
• Ensure projects meet expected timelines and engineering standards
People Development & Engagement
• Coach, mentor, and support team members’ professional development
• Drive employee engagement through team‑building activities and a positive work environment
What you will bring
• MS or M.Tech in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with specialization in Refrigeration with overall 12 plus years’ experience.
• Ph.D. strongly preferred—particularly in advanced refrigeration systems, energy efficiency, or related areas
• 8–10 years of experience in systems modeling and 1D simulation of mechanical, thermal, and electrical systems
• Experience with components such as heat exchangers, compression devices, HVAC components, and integrated controls
• Ideally 5 years of experience leading teams with direct people‑management responsibilities
• Strong foundation in Systems Simulation with awareness of Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practice.
• Ability to develop and execute complex simulation models for performance optimization, design verification, and risk mitigation
Technical Expertise
• Strong foundational knowledge and practical experience in systems simulation
• Proven ability to develop and execute complex simulation models for performance optimization, design verification, and risk mitigation.
• Hands‑on experience in model optimization, data analysis, correlation with test results, and metamodeling
• Experience using FMI (Functional Mock‑up Interface) for co‑simulation and data exchange
• Highly desirable: proficiency in OpenModelica, Dymola, MATLAB, Python
• Understanding of software programming fundamentals, including object‑oriented methodologies and version control
• Experience in developing test plans, executing validation strategies, and using experimental data for model calibration
• Strong skills in numerical methods, solvers, optimization, and robust design frameworks
• Ability to enforce and adhere to standardized engineering and development processes
Soft Skills
• Excellent communication skills for engaging stakeholders and managing expectations
• Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships in a cross‑functional global environment
