Job Summary
Broadcom's MicroOptics FAB in Charlotte, NC is searching for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians. This individual will act as a player/coach, providing hands-on technical leadership while driving accountability for site objectives, overseeing process improvement and sustaining engineering projects, and partnering across the organization to translate strategy into action. They will be leading a team of 5-7 people, and the technical focus of these engineers/technicians is backend packaging, lithography, ISO standards, gauge studies, and vendor accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a group of manufacturing engineers and technicians optimizing manufacturing methods.
Analyze process data to improve product/process quality, performance, production, and profitability.
Collaborate at all levels to establish functional business plans and translate objectives into tactics for short- and long-term goals.
Work on complex issues requiring deep organizational knowledge.
Oversee process improvement and sustaining engineering projects (schedule, budget, KPI metrics).
Participate in customer and supplier communications/negotiations.
Drive results across costs, methods, staffing, performance evaluation, career development, and budgeting.
This is a permanent position and the salary range is $120,000 – $170,000

Skills and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or technology-related field.
12+ years of relevant industry experience, including 3+ years in management.
Optical design/application experience preferred.
Strong experience in MicroOptics fabrication and/or semiconductor processes (photolithography, etch, metrology). Customer-facing experience and proven team management skills.
Broad understanding of industry trends and directions.
