Engineering Manager

THE ROLE:
As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of product design and development, from initial concept to final production. This is a strategic leadership role that requires a blend of technical expertise, team management, and business acumen. You will manage, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and drafters, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards. Your ability to foster innovation, ensure compliance, and collaborate across departments will be critical to your success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engineering Leadership: Manage and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of mechanical and design engineers. Product Development: Oversee the entire design and development lifecycle for crushing and processing equipment, including 3D modeling, detailed drawings, BOMs, and FEA. Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, sales, and service teams to translate market needs into viable engineering solutions. Standards & Compliance: Establish and maintain robust engineering standards and ensure all designs comply with relevant industry regulations. Budget & Cost Control: Develop and manage the engineering department's budget and implement value engineering initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS:
We are seeking a candidate with a BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical qualification. You should have:
8-10 years of engineering experience, with 3-5 years in a senior design or lead engineering capacity. Proven experience in managing and leading engineering teams. A strong background in the mining industry, specifically with crushing, processing, or materials handling equipment. Expertise in equipment design, manufacturing, and field service environments. Proficiency in CAD software and familiarity with FEA and structural design. A commercially aware mindset with a focus on business objectives and cost implications. A valid driver's license and the willingness to travel
