Job DescriptionWe’re looking for an experienced technical leader to step into the role of Engineering Manager and take ownership of our mechanical design, drafting, and project coordination teams. Reporting to the Head of Technical Responsibility, you’ll lead a multidisciplinary group across engineering and projects, ensuring the successful delivery of hydraulic system solutions through clear direction, team development, and process improvement.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll work closely with your own teams and other teams involved in the delivery of our system solutions. Therefore, a desire to drive collaboration, maintain high standards, and continuously improve design and development processes is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a cross-functional team across design, drafting, and project coordination, ensuring clear structure, alignment, high performance, and ongoing development.Be the Hydraulic technical lead in our business in terms of engineered solutions.Oversee the end-to-end delivery of mechanical and hydraulic design solutions, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely execution.Plan and implement effective design strategies that align with stakeholder needs and project objectives.Manage resource scheduling, drafting hours, and design deliverables to ensure milestones and budgets are met.Engage regularly with internal and external stakeholders to assess project progress, resolve issues, and communicate outcomes.Champion continuous improvement in design cycle time, cost, and technical quality across all deliverables.Drive product development activities and support the introduction of new technologies.QualificationsDegree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering (required).Strong experience in hydraulic system design and engineering team leadership.Proven ability to manage complex technical programs, engineering resources, and customer requirements.Sound knowledge of relevant Australian standards, legislation, and OHS/environmental frameworks.Skilled in project planning, documentation, cost control, and risk management.Proficient in engineering analysis tools and documentation systems.Collaborative leadership style with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.Able to lead with influence, mentor team members, and drive high performance across functions.Additional InformationThe benefits of working at Bosch:
