We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source for Engineering Lead (Packaged Equipment) specialising in offshore compression. This is a long-term contract role working on a residential basis 6-days per week / 10 hours per day. Please see details below:
Title: Engineering Lead (Packaged Equipment)
Start Date: Negotiable (typically within 1 month notice)
Duration: 36 months (potential for extension)
Location: Onshore (site based), Qatar
Working Schedule: 6-days per week / 10 hours per day
Job Purpose:
Responsible for mechanical equipment (Primary Specialization in Equipment Package) engineering activities for NFPS Compression project. Ensure mechanical equipment engineering activities comply with project requirements and specification.
Key Accountabilities: Reports to Head of Facilities Responsible to ensure Contractor deliver a complete mechanical equipment engineering deliverables during EPC execution. Ensure technical engagement with Contractor, and Vendors during bid clarifications and technical evaluation. Ensures the achievement of assigned goals and the fulfillment of the project quality requirements and the contractual obligations. Responsible to check, review and appraise all mechanical equipment technical documents (specifications, calculation notes, drawings, etc.) developed by Contractor are in compliance with project scopes and requirements and identify potential risks to project if any. Manage Contractor’s mechanical equipment disciplines resources and to ensure work completion on time. Monitors / reports actual progress and ensure mechanical equipment engineering are inline with procurement plan to meet the requirements of Required on Site (ROS) Participate in various project’s workshop such as Equipment Criticality, Hazardous Operations (HAZOP or HAZID etc) , 3D model reviews Assists with PMS expectations as required especially Risk Assessment, Facility Design and Construction and Management of Change Works in a highly visible project environment with large capital expenditures and significant schedule execution pressures Works in a dynamic environment that has high expectations for flawless project execution in safety, quality, cost and schedule performance which requires the incumbent to demonstrate accuracy initiative and the ability to multi-task as essential skills Develop, review and amend various policies and procedures to ensure that all mechanical engineering references are up to date and relevant.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Knowledge and/or Experience: 12 years of experience in Engineering roles specially mechanical package equipment discipline, including 8 years of Oil & Gas Industry,3 years in offshore and including 1 years experience in Supervisory or acting role,or oversight of contractor/subcontractor/service/vendor personnel. Primary specialization in Equipment Packages design development and with knowledge on static equipment and rotating equipment. In-depth understanding of various equipment design International Codes and Standards Possess experience and familiar with Equipment packages FAT requirements Experience with Oil & Gas Companies ,EPC contractors, subcontractors and vendors or service involved in the oil and gas industry Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to work with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
