Job Opportunity: Engineering Lead (ICSS Package Delivery)
About the Role
We are looking for an Engineering Lead (ICSS Package Delivery) to take full accountability for the design, fabrication, testing (FAT & SAT), and commissioning of the Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS) for the Project. This role is pivotal in leading and managing the EPC Contractor throughout all project phases to ensure that the ICSS package is delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.
You will be the single point of contact for all ICSS engineering activities and will play a critical role in ensuring the system is fully integrated with third-party packages and existing offshore systems.
Key Responsibilities ICSS Package Delivery: Lead the end-to-end delivery of the ICSS package from vendor design, fabrication, factory testing (FAT), yard installation, site testing (SAT), and commissioning, ensuring minimal punch lists and no carry-over work. Project Engineering Oversight: Ensure that ICSS design and engineering activities strictly comply with project specifications, codes, and safety standards. Technical Leadership: Drive and guide the EPC Contractor to deliver quality ICSS engineering deliverables on time. Provide clear direction to resolve design and interface issues quickly. Vendor & Contractor Management: Manage the ICSS procurement process with the EPC Contractor and ICSS Vendors, ensuring seamless integration with existing operating facilities without system disruptions. Schedule Management: Oversee ICSS schedules, progress tracking, risk identification, and mitigation. Support development of Level 3 and Level 4 project schedules. Testing & Commissioning: Lead the preparation and execution of factory and site acceptance tests (FAT & SAT). Develop and review commissioning and acceptance procedures. Cross-Discipline Support: Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure smooth project execution and system integration, both onshore and offshore. Reporting: Provide regular progress updates, risk assessments, and recovery plans to the Project Management Team. Stakeholder Interface: Act as a key interface with client operations teams, EPC contractors, ICSS vendors, and internal project teams, ensuring smooth coordination and alignment.
Role Challenges Leading the delivery of a complex ICSS system that integrates into both Greenfield and Brownfield facilities. Managing multi-party interfaces across several platforms and locations. Ensuring delivery under an aggressive project timeline. Balancing offshore, vendor, and fabrication site coordination (including travel to Indonesia and vendor locations).
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Required Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry. At least 5 years as an ICSS Lead on major EPCI projects. Proven leadership in managing EPC Contractors and ICSS Vendors on large-scale offshore projects. Extensive experience in Greenfield and Brownfield project execution. Deep technical knowledge in ICSS lifecycle management – from design to fabrication, commissioning, and start-up. Subject Matter Expertise in Schneider/Foxboro ICSS or equivalent systems. Strong background in executing and managing FAT and SAT activities. Solid understanding of serial interfaces and integration with third-party systems. Technical & Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Strong planning, organization, and tracking capabilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with engineering project tools. Comfortable working in multicultural, multi-disciplinary environments. Strong understanding of risk assessments, safety, and quality management in engineering projects.
